Step 1: Brainstorm and research your article. First, you need to have a starting point for your article. Sit down with a sheet of paper and a pen and brainstorm article ideas. Here are some pointers to help you out:

  • What is your favorite hobby?
  • Do you have a degree? If so, in what area?
  • What was your favorite subject in school?
  • What are you passionate about?

After you brainstorm for a bit, do a little bit of research online. Visit a few forums and find out what people are talking about. What kind of questions are they asking? What do they want to know? Drill it down as much as you can and determine your article topic.

Step 2: Write the first draft. After you brainstorm and come up with a great article idea, now it’s time to get started on the actual writing. Take your notes and start by writing a quick outline of what you’ll cover in your article. Next, fill in the flesh by adding some meat to the article. Don’t forget to write a good ending.

Step 3: Proofread, edit and polish your final copy. After your article is completed, you’ll want to do a quick spell check. Next, be sure to edit your article so that it is clear and easy to read. Make any last-minute final touches to it.
